DAOKE (AMRITSAR ): Surrounded on three sides by Pakistan, the residents of Daoke village are braving with the coronavirus pandemic with almost nil transport and erratic mobile connectivity even as a single bridge that connects the village with the main road is lying in shambles with railing on one side of the bridge is completely missing.
While talking to TOI on Wednesday, Harneet Singh, officiating principal of Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Daoke, informed that Amritsar was nearly 46 kilometres from Daoke and there was no government or private bus connectivity and it becomes a daunting task to shift a patient to Amritsar in case of a medical emergency.
