A host of road closures are in place across Powys as the county deals with effects of Storm Christoph. Powys County Council and Traffic Wales have confirmed the A483 between Welshpool and Newtown is closed this morning, and the same road is also closed in both directions between Four Crosses and Llanymynech. The A483 is also closed in both directions in Builth Wells. In Machynlleth the A487 Dyfi Bridge is closed in both directions, and the Derwen Las road is also closed.
Flooding in the Meifod area by County Times Camera Club member Nita Ashworth Natural Resources Wales say there are flood alerts in place for the following areas;
WINTER is well and truly here but some seem to suit the snow more than others. County Times Camera Club member Nita Ashworth captured a simply stunning picture of pure-bred Spanish stallion Fernando galloping through the snow at a field in Abercigar. Nita is a Spanish horse enthusiast and took the picture of Fernando for his owner, Elizabeth Turton. Nita is a former Spanish horse breeder herself and owned them for the past 20 years and has now turned her passion for horses to photography. The photograph – reminiscent from a scene from the classic book ‘ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ – captures the snow which fell across mid Wales.
