DARIEN Michael Cortese doesn’t want to make his efforts to see the rainbow flag around town during Pride month this June political; he wants to start a discussion.
Cortese moved to Darien with his husband Ryan about three years ago when their daughter was born. He said it had so many positive qualities that attracted his family proximity to New York City, walking distance to the train, the parks, and beaches. He describes himself as apoliticial which is why he was drawn to serve on the Representative Town Meeting.

DARIEN The state’s rollout process continues to frustrate some in Darien, as firefighters have yet to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Though other towns included their fire departments in Phase 1A, Darien’s three volunteer fire departments Darien, Noroton and Noroton Heights are not classified as medical first responders, thus currently do not qualify to get the shot.

Person-to-Person grateful for donations during tough year
To the Editor:
Thanksgiving this year looked very different without extended family and friends at the table. Record numbers of our neighbors, almost a quarter of all Connecticut residents, are struggling to put food on the table. The need has never been greater, and our community rose to the challenge during this extraordinary November by sharing the harvest: an act that epitomizes the Thanksgiving tradition of expressing gratitude.
Person-to-Person (P2P) wishes to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who shared their bounty with others, particularly during this very difficult time for those we serve. The Connecticut Food Bank, Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Walter Stewart Markets, families of Hindley Elementary School and Stew Leonard’s provided an additional 500 turkeys, allowing P2P to feed over 1,000 Fairfield County familie
