Mayor Jeremy Grimm announced at Wednesday’s council meeting that he hopes to start each meeting with department head reports. Based on this new structure, those with significant responsibilities in the city will give their staff reports before public comment. They will offer a short introduction and talk about projects they are working on and projects that will be tackled in the near future.

We have quite the dilemma occurring at the intersection of North Boyer Road and Kootenai Cutoff Road. (At the entrance to the roundabout near the fairgrounds.) Normally this type of traffic inconvenience doesn’t reach the status of dilemma, however, here are the reasons this one is different:

The first Bonner County Fair was held in 1927 at the original fairgrounds at War Memorial Park. Twenty communities were represented, and it was sponsored by Bonner County and the Sandpoint Kiwanis Club. The first fair board was formed in 1930; some of the family names from these early years, such as Albertson, Anselmo, Culver, and McNall, as well as organizations such as the Bonner County Sportsmen Association and Kiwanis, remain involved with the fair today.
