Carson City Fire Department and sheriffs deputies responded early Sunday afternoon to a vehicle crash near the intersection of North Carson and College Parkway.

A Carson City man was arrested and faces charges including domestic battery and gross misdemeanor child abuse after using a pillow to repeatedly beat on his girlfriend in which their baby also sustained a bruise to the face, authorities said. Miguel Angel Paredes, 23, was arrested at 4:08 a.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Lone Mountain Drive.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – NV Energy and the Nevada Department of Transportation are announcing brief closures of Interstate 580 between northern Carson City and Washoe Valley during the morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 2.

Six people have been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries and robberies.

Authorities are searching for a suspect after an armed bank robbery in Carson City Thursday morning.
