Residents in Berry Creek living in RVs since the Bear Fire in 2020 have been doing so under temporary, long-term camping permits granted by Butte County as they rebuild their home. The permits are set to expire by Dec. 31, 2023, yet several residents who cannot afford to rebuild are expected to remain dependent on their trailer or RV after their temporary permits expire.
