Bull Bash returns to Northeast Alabama Agri-Business Center

Professional Bull Riders are back in Rainsville for the annual PBR Bull Bash 2021 on January 15 and 16 at the Northeast Alabama Agri-Business Center. Presented by Landers McLarty Ford of Fort Payne, the bull bash features top-notch riders, including Cody Nance of Paris, Tennessee and Cody Campbell of Summerville, Oregon, who will battle it out with some of Rickey West Bucking Bulls best four-legged athletes. Gates open at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night, with the event commencing at 7:30 p.m. both nights. PBR Bull Bash Organizer Rickey West said the event began in 2004 at his home in Fyffe before moving to the Northeast Alabama Agri-Business Center in 2011.

Estimated 30,000 fed from recent food drive event

Last week, Twin City Used Cars and Cattle Stampede hosted a two-day holiday meal drive-thru giveaway. With many families affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, especially during the holiday season, Twin City Used Cars owner Bobby Ledbetter and Cattle Stampede owner Miles Smith joined forces this holiday season handing out 2,000 meal bags to citizens of DeKalb County. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve been going into every community handing out food to ease the load off somebody,” Ledbetter said. “It’s Christmas and families have enough to worry about.” A multitude of vehicles filled the Northeast Alabama Agri-business Center in Rainsville last Monday afternoon to receive a meal sack.

Illegal winery found in waste water treatment plant 21st December, 2020 by Phoebe French An illegal wine production operation disguised in a waste water treatment plant has been discovered in Rainsville in northeast Alabama. As reported by News 19, officers from DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office discovered the winery after an anonymous tip-off last week. Rainsville Mayor Roger Lingerfelt gave the authorities access to the plant, where they found large quantities of illegal alcohol as well as a winery that “appeared to be in operation for a long period of time”. DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said it was one of the biggest illicit operations uncovered in the county “and possibly our state”.
