This new update is already available to download and we ve got a few quick patch notes thanks to Nintendo. To be clear, these don t involve any balance changes, though such a patch very well may come at a later date.
Today s notes mainly focus on how you can gain access to Sephiroth before his official release date on December 23. Masahiro Sakurai and his team have thought up something new for Ultimate as they showed off the Sephiroth Challenge, a mini mode boss battle that, when successfully completed, grants you access to the One-Winged Angel and his new Northern Cave stage.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate showcase, the new Sephiroth DLC character will release on Dec. 22, 2020. However, players who defeat the character during the limited-time Sephiroth Challenge will unlock him immediately instead of on the release date. You can face him on three different difficulties, and he’s only a real challenge on the most difficult setting. During a recent presentation,
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai announced that the fan favourite character will be available in the game next Tuesday, December 22. However, players can get early access to the character by completing the Sephiroth Challenge.
The limited-time challenge is available to users have pre-ordered the Sephiroth DLC â either individually or as part of Fighters Pass Vol. 2 â and pits them against a Boss version of the
FFVII villain. After Sephiroth is defeated, he will be unlocked and available to play immediately.
