They were challenged to climb the equivalent of Mount Everest. The pupils have clocked-up the 8,848 metres by counting the number of times they’ve been up and down stairs over several weeks. Holycroft sports coach Richard Taylor organised the initiative, which is part of a drive by staff and pupils to get more active after the months of lockdown. Headteacher, Geoff Morrison, said: “We have been very aware of the lack of physical activity children have been able to access over the last few months. “Since they returned to school in September, we have built in a range of initiatives throughout the school day to help support the children’s physical and mental health.
