NU Dining organizes Black History Month Celebratory Dinner

Students enjoyed a variety of dishes originating from Black American culture at Northwestern Dining’s Black History Month Celebratory Dinner Wednesday evening in Sargent Dining Hall. Recipes including hickory smoked pork shoulder, high mesa peach and blackberry cobbler, rice with pigeon peas, and ginger and brown sugar candied sweet potatoes were served in all NU dining.

Northwestern chef Cedric Taylor serves food for the body and mind

Cedric Taylor believes cooking and teaching have a lot in common.  “No two chefs cook a recipe the same,” Taylor said. “No two students learn the same way, either.”  The 51-year-old Chicago native would know. Arab American Heritage Celebration features Arab dishes, dancing

Communication sophomore Rama Darayyad, who is Palestinian, walked into Allison dining hall for dinner Thursday and was unexpectedly reminded of home.  Northwestern Dining hosted an Arab American Heritage Celebration Thursday night.
