Area roundup: Get ready for growing season at Minnetrista Garden Fair

MUNCIE Garden Fair, a free two-day community event, will be returning to Minnetrista this year, set for 8 a.m.-4 p.m. June 5 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 6.
A wide variety of vendors will sell plants, landscaping tools and more.
On Saturday, June 5, the Farmers Market at Minnetrista will also be open 8 a.m.-noon, featuring local vendors of seasonal produce, artisanal items, fresh meats and more. Minnetrista encourages patrons to preorder from vendors whenever possible at: minnetrista.net/farmers-market. Additionally, The Orchard Shop will be open during both days of Garden Fair, featuring more nature-inspired local finds.

NEW CASTLE The New Castle-Henry County Public Library invites the community to an outdoor concert featuring bluegrass/folk band My Brother’s Keeper at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at the 1400 Plaza (corner of Broad and 15th streets) for the first Noteworthy Concert of the season, weather permitting.
My Brother’s Keeper is a Cincinnati-based band that performs original music that draws inspiration from bluegrass, rock and everything in between, according to a release.
There is no cost to attend the concert, but registration for the concert is required. To register, go to nchcpl.librarycalendar.com.
This concert is part of the Noteworthy Concert series, provided thanks to funding from the Friends of the Library. Audience members should take their own lawn chairs and abide by social distancing guidelines.
