Report: What Will William Regal s Two Major NXT Announcement Be?
✖
On top of the two NXT title matches booked for this week s show, WWE s Black & Gold Brand has promised general manager William Regal will make two major announcements that will greatly affect the future of the brand.
Sports Illustrated s Justin Barrasso released a new report on Tuesday night that reveals both of the surprises.
The first is that NXT will get its own set of Women s Tag Team Championships. When the WWE women s tag titles were first introduced in 2019 they came with the special stipulation that they could be defended across Raw, SmackDown and NXT but the defenses for the latter have been incredibly rare and nobody from that brand has held the titles so far. Last week saw Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax controversially retain the titles against Women s Dusty Cup winners Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai due in large part to outside interference from Adam Pearce.
Report: WWE Considering a Two-Night NXT TakeOver During WrestleMania 37 Week
✖
The WWE Network broke the news earlier this week (somewhat unintentionally) that the next NXT TakeOver event is scheduled for April 8, just two days before the two-night
WrestleMania 37 event. As of now, WWE has yet to announce anything regarding the show, but a new report popped up from
PWInsider on Thursday that explained how this TakeOver might differ from others.
According to Mike Johnson, the company is considering holding TakeOver across two nights with the first taking place on April 7 on the USA Network during NXT s usual weekly timeslot. The second night would then air exclusively on the WWE Network. He also pointed out that the idea can change given the show is a month away.
NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day takes place on Sunday night at WWE s Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida. The show will see three championships be defended along with the final matches of this year s two Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournaments. Online sportsbook BetOnline released its final [.]
Finn Balor Gives Hope for the Return of The Demon in NXT
Super ShowDown event, where he defended the Intercontinental Championship against Andrade. Balor would make the jump to NXT months later and eventually turned heel, shedding the bland character he had built on the main roster in the process. Now known as The Prince, Balor now brings more brutality and malice to his matches while cutting harsh promos on his opponents. Throughout this run, the reigning NXT Champion has shown no signs of bringing back the painted persona, but in a new interview with The
New York Post he swung the door wide open for its return.
