With the Chelsea Hornets, Oak Mountain Eagles, Spain Park Jaguars and Thompson Warriors hitting the track at Hewitt-Trussville High School on April 26-27, multiple athletes from the area rose to the top of Class 7A, Section 2 to reach the state championship.

The Oak Mountain Eagles kept their undefeated season alive as they capped off a perfect 6-0 run through area play.

The Thompson Warriors continued to gain momentum as they took their second win in a row with a victory over the Spain Park Jaguars on Friday, April 5 on the road at Spain Park High School.

The Oak Mountain Eagles brought home some hardware after they claimed the Pike Road Patriot Classic title on Saturday, April 6 at Pike Road High School.

After seeing their first inning lead disappear in the bottom of the frame, the Oak Mountain Eagles recovered to come out on top on the road against the Mortimer Jordan Blue Devils.

The Oak Mountain Eagles continued their perfect start to the season against some of Georgia’s top teams, and a program legend accomplished a key career milestone.

The Oak Mountain Eagles entered their Sweet 16 matchup with the top-ranked Huntsville Panthers knowing they were playing with house money, and they came to the table with as strong a hand as any team that has taken on Huntsville this year.

While the situation looked bleak for the Oak Mountain Eagles as they trailed the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies by 14 points early in the third quarter, they refused to give up when the pressure was the greatest.
