Job fair being hosted next week, 35+ employers looking to hire

47abc May 13, 2021 SALISBURY, Md. – Plenty of people are looking for work during the pandemic and as of late it seems like even more places are looking to hire. So employers and job seekers can meet each other at a job fair right here in Salisbury next week. So here’s the details: on Wednesday the 19th, Mountaire and the Oak Ridge Baptist Church are teaming up to host that job fair in the Oak Ridge Parking lot. It will happen from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and anyone who is looking for a job is welcome to come walk around, introduce themselves to employers, and see what jobs are available.

Colorado now on Kansas’ travel quarantine list The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has amended its travel quarantine list to add Colorado and the countries of Cabo Verde, India, Maldives and Seychelles. Several locations are removed from the list, including New Jersey and New York, as well as the countries of Andorra, Aruba, Bermuda, Curacao, France, Hungary, Poland and Serbia. A comprehensive list of those individuals needing to quarantine includes visitors and Kansans who have: • Traveled on or after May 6 to Colorado or the countries of Cabo Verde, India, Maldives and Seychelles. • Traveled on or after April 22 to Minnesota or the countries of Argentina, Bahrain, Croatia, Cyprus, Sweden and Turkey.

Three dead in apparent North Carolina domestic case Associated Press BOONVILLE, N.C. Three people are dead and a fourth was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries in an apparent case of domestic violence, according to authorities in central North Carolina. The Yadkin County Sheriff s Office said it received a 911 call about 2:30 Sunday afternoon from a home on North Oak Ridge Church Road in Boonville but that the caller hung up. Deputies forced their way into the house after seeing someone lying on the floor. They found one person dead and another with serious injuries. Authorities also responded to a second location down the street in the parking lot of North Oak Ridge Baptist Church, where they found two people dead inside the suspect s vehicle.
