The NJ MVC reportedly does 75 percent of its business online now, according to Patch.com, 40 percent more than pre-pandemic.
MVC spokesperson William Connolly tells Patch.com, We [MVC] add thousands of appointments daily to our nearly 40 agency locations throughout the state. Appointments are only needed for a handful of services now.
More services available online probably come as a relief to many New Jersey motorists who ve endured long lines at MVC, or not been able to get visit at all as 10 locations are currently closed due to employees contracting coronavirus.

NEW JERSEY The Motor Vehicle Commission announced that it s continuing to make changes to help customers now that 10 Motor Vehicle Commission centers are closed after employees tested positive for the coronavirus.
The MVC revealed late Monday that a vast majority of the agency s business – 75 percent – has now been moved to the Internet at NJMVC.gov and that 40 percent more transactions are being processed each week since before the pandemic.
Eighty percent of the license and registration renewals are now being handled online, officials said.
Subscribe New Jerseyans are well-served by the MVC, as we deliver motor vehicle services as safely and effectively as possible during a pandemic, said William Connolly, a spokesman for the MVC.
2 more MVC agencies, in Lakewood and Flemington, shut down due to COVID

Two more state Motor Vehicle Commission agencies closed Thursday after employees at each tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said.
Lakewood will be closed until Thursday, April 15, after the employee who tested positive was last in the agency on Wednesday, March 31. Flemington will be closed until Wednesday, April 14, after an employee who tested positive was last in the agency on Tuesday, March 30.
Drivers will see some relief on Saturday when the Randolph, Bayonne and Salem licensing centers are scheduled to reopen.
All MVC facilities will be closed Friday, April 2, in observance of Good Friday. Regular operations resume at all MVC facilities Saturday, except at agencies closed due to COVID-19.
