Daily Post Nigeria Published The Alawo of Awo Ekiti, Oba Abdulazees Olaleye, who was sacked by the Ekiti State High Court last week has appealed the judgement, saying that he remains in charge with the appeal already filed at the Appellate Court. The High court had in a judgement delivered by Justice Abiodun Adesodun in a suit number HAD/134/2020 on the 1st March 2021 removed the monarch from the throne, saying his selection contravened the State’s Chieftaincy edict. In the appeal, the monarch faulted the position canvassed by the High Court that his selection violated the extant rule, saying he was validly selected to occupy the throne of his forebears.

Muslim youths raise alarm over alleged plot to remove Ekiti Oba

Daily Post Nigeria Published The Muslim Ummar in Ekiti State has raised the alarm over an alleged attempt by some political forces and some elements in the Judiciary to pervert justice to give way for the removal of the Alawo of Awo Ekiti, Oba Abdulazees Olaleye. The Muslims, who addressed newsmen in Ado Ekiti, on Thursday, via the National Council of Muslim Youths Organisation (NACOMYO), Ekiti chapter, said it finds it appalling that the State Judiciary could entertain a case that had been determined by the Appeal Court and became statute-barred in a conspiratorial move to remove Oba Olaleye. NACOMYO Coordinator, Tajudeen Ahmed, in a speech, entitled: ‘ The emasculation and strangulation of Rule Law in Alawo Obaship Tussle’, said Judiciary has no reason to entertain any case already determined by the Appeal, if not for conspiracy.
