The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has urged Nigerians, especially Muslims, to use the period of Eid-el-Fitr and pray for the country to overcome its challenges.
Gbajabiamila a statement on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, said after supplications, it is incumbent on Muslims to pray that Allah brings peace to the land.
The Speaker said, “Nigeria faces challenges at the moment, this is why as citizens, we should pray to our creator for solutions even as leaders try their best to address the issues.”

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi on Friday apologized to all the victims of rights violations in the state, expressing the hope that the steps taken to remedy the situation would ameliorate what they have suffered psychologically and physically.
Fayemi said this while receiving the final report of the State Judicial Panel of Inquiry into an allegation of Human Rights Violation Against Police Officers including Officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other Persons.
Former senator who represented the Kogi West Senatorial District during the 8th National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently address Nigerians on the state of security in the nation.
Dino, who made this known on Friday during a programme (Focus) on AIT, said Nigerians are no longer comfortable with statements from the presidency.
According to him, Nigerians voted for President Buhari and not Garba Shehu or any other media aide.
“They are to speak for the president when there is policy information, but in terms of interaction, we voted for President Buhari, not Garba Shehu.
