Their daily existence typifies a state of nature where life is bestial and short with the daily struggle for survival as a permanent feature. Obeagu, a boundary community shared by Ebonyi and Enugu states with over 10,000 population has no access road or health facility, either public or private. • Flipside Of Police Brutality Following the heightened attacks by the Boko Haram insurgents in the northern part of the country, as well as, the general feeling of insecurity in the nation, the demand for land and mortgage increased in Southeast, particularly Enugu State. The scramble for land stoked fresh concerns as land ownership disputes escalated. In some cases, owners and communities made conflicting claims, even as speculators cashed in on the increased demands to ambush desperate developers. Recently, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, sent a signal to the Commissioner of Police (CP) Enugu State, Ahmad Abdulrahman, urging the CP to check the trespass on a parcel of land owned by Mrs. Uju Ohanenye, a businesswoman.

Enugu Land Commissioner dragged to court for alleged land documents forgery

Dr. Victor Nnam A Federal High Court in Enugu has fixed February 24, 2021 for the arraignment of the Enugu State Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Dr. Victor Nnam, on an eight count charge bothering on forgery of land documents. This followed the absence of Dr. Nnam during Tuesday December 9 scheduled arraignment proceeding. Dr. Nnam was dragged to the Federal High Court by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation following petition by an estate developing firm, known as Private Estates International West Africa Limited (PEIWA). The firm is the developer of the Enugu Lifestyle and Golf City, popularly known as Centenary City.
