This date his deputies were looking for three fugitives they found him in an apartment with children inside hiding in a closet just a block from an elementary school. They are the Unsung Heroes of Law Enforcement. Like the military slogan says these folks do more by 9 00 a. M. Than most do all day. The u. S. Marshals arrested 7200 fugitives and violent offenders during the month long operation, more than 200 in the state of new jersey and 20 in camden. It but the a dent in the crime in camden and it ended april 107b8g, but these deputies continue to take back the streets. By taking these dangerous individuals off the street and seizing illegal narcotics and currency and weapons, we put an immediate end to their unlawful activities. While Authorities Say this operation was a huge success we would be remiss if we did not mention josie wells the Deputy Marshall killed in the line of duty in baton rouge louisiana. The reward is now 20,000 tonight for information that leads to an arrest and
Presentation 17 and folsom is a good example of the collaboration thats gone on between the planning and the parks and recreation and the community , we are able to use those impact fees to secure that site and complete a design. That project is on hold now to make time for the puc to create storm water catch basin underneath the park. Once that is complete, we should be able to move forward. I think that spirit of collaboration is what we want to continue to repeat and all the other projects that we are considering for the eastern neighborhoods. We have at this point two very successful meetings with the eastern neighborhoods with cac around outlining a process about how we can Work Together to identify Capital Improvements that would be funding through the eastern neighborhoods and impact fees and using the matching funds and geo bonds and other sources. What we have discuss with the cac and Planning Department is what should the major renovation projects be that we undertake. We fee
We have not done much with the series renovation projects to serve the additional population that we are expecting. Looking at the portfolio projects that parks and recreation opens and maintains in the eastern neighborhood. We came up with a list of priority projects based on feedback from the community and also our own understanding of the general condition of those cites and the extent to which they are also have been unable to generate funds for those projects and there are parks that need to be renovated and parks that weve been able to renovate with the trusted land and other partners and there is others that we have not been able to find other funding for providing. Some of those parks include jackson playground, mission recs, franklin square, and potrero hill, which is the name of the property but its the recs center that seems to be an outstanding place, the cal trans property maintains and the city wants us to integrate that sight further and make potential improvements. Here
A couple things, in terms of whether its appropriate to fund a capital need thats technically in a Enterprise Department with a general obligation i appreciate your acknowledgment that that is something weve done in the past and were planning to do it again in november by having a bond for muni, which is an Enterprise Department. I appreciate that acknowledgment. I guess my question is also, with streetlights, you made a comment about how this has somehow been an issue, but the fact is we have a Capital Asset that happens to be skidding inside the puc and Enterprise Department, but the department has been completely unable to care for this asset. Not because of lack of desire to care for it, but because they have no funds essentially to take care of these beyond a very basic maintenance program. I guess the question is how do we think about that when you have an asset in an Enterprise Department that has just deteriorated. And i would add to that, that i have heard from the puc particu
President of the board is taking part in those discussions, but now its to the board and were hearing about it for the first time and were having a conversation that is probably more appropriate to have in the planning committee. One thing im thinking about is is there a way to build up a structure so we can have these discussions in a place where they really should happen and hear where the board should be finalizing and adding to what should be in a bond. In my district, the issue of lighting the huge. I have very dark streets, i dont have a large commercial corridor that illuminates other parts of the district. Street crime is something thats real. Lighting is one way that we want to get to be able to resolve those issues. Im considering greatly thinking about how we can increase the lighting facilities we have. This could be a good process. Right now, the Capital Planning process is one thats very archaic. Supervisor wiener. Thank you. I just have a few follow up questions. First,
