Jenni Evans The R287 million facility will eventually replace the buckling Salt River facility in Cape Town.  It will have 26 autopsy table, 360 refrigerated body spaces, and place for up to 100 visitors a day at its bereavement centre.  The Western Cape s long-awaited new forensic pathology institute is scheduled to be completed in April, after construction stalled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The R287 million facility will eventually replace the buckling Salt River facility in Cape Town, with 26 autopsy tables. It will also have 360 refrigerated body spaces, and place for up to 100 visitors a day at its bereavement centre. The building is situated at the bottom of the hill leading up to the sprawling Groote Schuur Hospital.
