Speaked s to this, and he hired investigators, and we have talked about it with this administration as a hole. whether or not it is president trump, saudi arabia, the president, his relationships with these dictators, theyre dangerous. going after jeff besos because he owns a newspaper doing real investigation is the scary part about this. not whether or not pictures ended up on tmz or the enquirer. >> one of the problems they face is it is all just so plausible. it is so plausible to anyone wit...

Administration? >> i think if that is right, i dont know who michael allen was talking to who was outside of the west wing, but if -- i think what theyre talking about is a desire -- a rope-a-dope strategy to some extent in trying to get democrats to fire up from the dais and in a way in which they efr -- they overreach and instead of the bullies and trying to get the country back on track and there were moments yesterday at the whitaker hearing in which democrats seems very angry and talking ov...

Pecker had been receiving immunity in the southern district of new york case in order to go after michael cohen. right now michael cohen is the only one who has faced jail time in any of this because everybody else cut an immunity deal. not sure how that deal holds up now. im not a prosecutor, obviously, but, you know, theres certainly questions that are going to be raised about how long that deal can hold up in light of this unbelievable letter that was written to jeff bezos threatening, you kn...

Casual observer of the news, the pez presidents closest media ally tried to blackmail and distort in the presidents mind biggest media nemesis. >> yeah, its very easy to believe. unfortunately, thats the stair -- state of affairs today. a lot of nuances here. you described the statutory elements of extortion in a federal statute. is the fbi getting called in? has bezos filed a complaint? is the fbi going to look at ami now as a subject? do we need to go back and look at the cooperation agreement...

And allows him to see that and react to it in real-time. >> after the campaign you came into the administration. did you work on the inauguration at all? >> i was in alabama most of the time, didnt work it at all, the transition and inauguration are two separate entities. >> absolutely, two separate entities and have to be two separate entities. i bet youre glad of that given the subpoenas that went out to the committees. they raised an inordinate amount of money. now, the southern district of n...

I will say on the spending side, we have seen a number of stories, going back to my time in the white house, how some resources were spent, vendors, a friend of the first lady was a key player organizing a lot of the things and millions of dollars spent through that entity. these are stories we have seen trickle out over the last six or eight months and maybe worth lifting up the hood to see if there was impropriety as to those vendors. i have no reason to believe theres any impropriety. just as...

>> harris: so, senator thune, just so we dont miss it, dire circumstances over in emergency executive order a kind of political compared with the dire circumstances of 800,000 people sitting and waiting for their paychecks to resume. put it to me plainly, though. is this the kind of pressure that this situation needs? >> i think that nobody wants to see it, because its not in anybodys best interest, to have another government shutdown. i do have the federal workers experience with they went thro...

Border wall personality disorder. i feel like it is, when you look at the description of that, when those of us who know more people who work in the federal government than probably the president himself and how they suffered during that to say people thanked him for raising awareness, i dont know what to say. i guess, also, just watching the interviews yesterday about him saying, no, we are actually starting a wall. its a better design. it looks better. to not have our media say, were you going...

House, will any of that go anywhere, will any of this pressure change anything? the attention they can bring to stuff through hearings, will it change anything? will it make new policy? i know they will be able to pass bills in the house. can they pass new laws? there is the senate. there is the white house. i dont know. but the prospect of what they are doing already, all of a sudden makes congress way more relevant than its been in a long time. democrats and some observer whose do not want to ...

Prediction today. i didnt know what the heck he was talking about. first of all, the idea of saying that an investigation is almost over is something as shimone said, the justice department never says. it is interesting news. hes not an outside observer. he is actually the supervisor of that investigation so thats real news. now, i dont know what almost over means. does it mean one month, does it mean six mons, thats not -- months, thats not clear but the thing that was chilling and bizarre was ...
