Taiwan’s Defence Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng says frequency of Chinese military drills increases risk of accidental clash.

More than 100 Chinese fighter jets and a handful of warships were detected near Taiwan in the past 24 hours, its military said Monday.

The U.S. has criticized China for holding such exercises, calling them “provocative.”

Taiwan recently detected 68 Chinese aircraft and 10 warships with some of them even crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait.

Earlier, the Taiwanese defense agency reported that on Wednesday morning, the island’s armed forces tracked the approach of 35 Chinese aircraft with 28 of them crossing the so-called median line of the Taiwan Strait or entered the Taiwan Air Defense Identification Zone
