The Senate-passed Energy Policy Act of 2002 would not enhancesupplies of energy. What it would do, however, is harm the U.S.economy and raise the cost of energy for consumers.  It isbetter to have no energy bill than to be burdened with one thatsuppresses vital energy supplies.

This week’s round of technical talks at the UN’s maritime regulator showed countries are prepared to phase out shipping emissions by 2050. More crucially, support appears to be building for the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to also adopt an ambitious 2030 interim target for cutting emissions from ships.

Countries seem to be prepared to phase out shipping emissions by 2050, based on the first rounds of technical talks at the IMO.
