Budweiser Clydesdales returning to Ocean Springs in June
Updated May 18, 2021;
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will be returning for an appearance in Ocean Springs in June, marking the third consecutive year the famed horse team has visited the city.
The massive horses and their instantly familiar wagon paraded through the downtown area last Feb. 1 in what would prove to be the last large city event prior to the outbreak of COVID-19. They were also in the city in 2019 after making their first appearance eight years prior for a city St. Patrick’s Day parade.
Mayor Shea Dobson said the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Budweiser marketing representatives are still ironing out the details, but the parade through town is scheduled for June 6 beginning at 2 p.m.

Popular Ocean Springs pub to bid farewell after 15 years
Updated 1:42 PM;
OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. It was 2005.
Kris Kwitzky was managing the SportsZone barge at the Palace Casino Resort. But when Hurricane Katrina hit in August of that year, the barge was washed away and Kwitzky’s job along with it.
Unexpectedly unemployed, Kwitzky returned to a long-held idea: owning a bar.
“I had been wanting to do a bar for years and years,” he said. “I started looking around at places in Ocean Springs, but nothing really jumped out at me.”
One afternoon, after having lunch with his sister, Karen Kwitzky, he passed by the building at 1025 Government St., where a “For Rent” sign had just gone up in the window.
