Rolling back odometers on used cars and then selling them as if they’ve accrued far less mileage than they actually have is definitely illegal, but that hasn’t stopped some used car dealerships from doing it anyway. Over in Ohio, the Mega Group will be the fourth used-car dealership to come under scrutiny from state Attorney General Dave Yost.

The legal action against Ohio Mega Group and its owner, Dominic Wiley, follows an investigation by the Attorney General’s Office, which received 17 complaints against the dealership. The lawsuit cites

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has filed lawsuits seeking to dial back odometer-tampering schemes at two Columbus-area used-car dealerships.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is suing two Columbus contractors and two car dealerships, accusing them of shoddy work and rolling back odometers.

The suits accuse the dealerships of odometer tampering and failing to inform consumers when they were buying rebuilt salvaged vehicles.
