mccarthy who decides if a bill gets a vote on the house floor hasn t said a word on the nashville shooting. kevin mccarthy has not issued a statement or even a tweet. joining us now, chris brown, the president of brady, the advocacy campaign that focuses on preventing gun violence. thank you for being with us this morning. let s get your reaction to what we heard. republicans wanting to talk about anything other than guns and it seems like there will be no action from the gop on any gun legislation, even though we ve had more than 130 mass shootings already this year. to be honest, i m not surprised. you know, certain republican lawmakers consistently use what has been the national rifle association talking points, thoughts and prayers, we can t talk about this, we don t have enough information, it s too soon. we hear it every time. having lawmakers also say sorry that s not the role of congress or there s nothing we can do, we
