BJP's Tamil Nadu chief, K Annamalai, on Saturday accused ruling DMK government of "doing politics" over Hindi and Tamil languages after Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remark that Hindi must be accepted by one and all without any opposition.

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has hit out at the DMK government, alleging the party of playing dirty politics over Hindi and Tamil languages. Annamalais comments came after state Chief Minister M K Stalin asserted that Tamil Nadu would reject any form of Hindi hegemony, in response to Home Minister Amit Shahs statement that Hindi must be accepted without opposition.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Hindi is not in a competition with any local languages and that India can be empowered through the promotion of all Indian languages.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister reiterated that the state would reject any form of Hindi hegemony and imposition.
