The South zone final for the sixth edition of Print Olympiad was organised by the Offset Printers’ Association (OPA) at College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai with the support of Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, Sivakasi. Praveen Kumar of Anna University won the Top Print Student South zone title, and advanced to the final in September.

Organised by the Offset Printers’ Association (OPA), the Print Olympiad West Zone finale was held at PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology, with the support of Maharashtra Institute of Printing Technology. Apeksha Deshmukh from PVG’s COET & GKWIM was awarded the title: Top Print Student West Zone, and is eligible to participate in the national finale to be held in September 2024.

OPA Calendar 2024 Released

The Indian Printing Packaging & Allied Machinery Manufacturers' Association (IPAMA) has successfully organised a promotional meet for the upcoming IntraPac India and PrintPack India events, and to inform the attendees about the IntraPac India, scheduled to be held at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida on 14-17 March and PrintPack India, slated to be held on 1-5 February 2025. The event took place in Amritsar.


Uttkarsh Dubey, a third-year student of printing at the Central University of Haryana, was awarded the BR Chaudhary gold medal, initiated by the Offset Printers’ Association (OPA), and bagged the title of Printing Student of the Year.

In a special first for the country, Prof Kamal Mohan Chopra has been re-elected as the chairman of the World Print & Communication Forum (WPCF). Readers of PrintWeek will recall that on 8 December in 2020 for his first tenure. At that time, he took over the reins from the past president, Michael Makin (USA).

The Offset Printers’ Association (OPA) has initiated the BR Chaudhary gold medal. This award will be presented to the best printing student of CUH, Mahendragarh.

For the first time this year, Ludhiana printers bagged 10 awards, including four gold, three silver and three certificates of merit at the National Awards for the Excellence in Printing (NAEP) organised by the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP).
