Body of former police clerk found in shallow grave in FS

───   15:15 Thu, 01 Apr 2021 PHOTO: Unsplash/David von Diemar The gruesome discovery in the Free State of the body of a former Eastern Cape police clerk has led to the arrest of the victim’s son. According to Free State police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, the victim, 40-year-old Siziwe Gladile, was reported missing by his brother on 31 March 2021. The body of Gladile was found on 31 March 2021 at his residence at Bronville, in the Free State. Mbambo says police members, Sergeants Israel Tshehlana and Matlala Matlala, conducted a preliminary investigation by visiting the victim s house. On arrival they noticed that the window panes were broken and there were blood stains on the ground next to the house leading to the shack at the back. ───   LUCKY NKUYANE 05:25 Thu, 01 Apr 2021 The Bloemfontein-based Supreme Court of Appeals (SCA) in the Free State has set aside and declared as unconstitutional and unlawful the ANC s provincial conference which was held in May 2018. This is where MEC for Roads and Transport, Sam Mashini, was elected as the chairperson of the party; and Agriculture MEC William Bulwana as his deputy.  A disgruntled group of ANC members took the matter to the SCA after a High Court judge dismissed its bid to have the elected structure declared illegal and unconstitutional in 2018. On Wednesday, the SCA upheld the leave to appeal the bid with costs and said the provincial conference was held in violation of a court order of 29 November 2017.

#Eskom moves load-shedding to Stage 1

───   06:00 Wed, 17 Mar 2021 Eskom says load-shedding will be reduced from Stage 2 to Stage 1 from 5am Wednesday. Stage 1 power cuts will now continue until 5am on Saturday. While Eskom has been able to return four generating units to operation, the generation system remains constrained. Eskom CEO, André de Ruyter said this week South Africa can expect more load-shedding over the next five years. He says the power utility will have a shortfall in electricity supply and that old power stations are the main reason for the blackouts.
