MILLERSBURG When students apply the skills they learn in the classroom and can see the results of their handiwork, it is rewarding it s rewarding for both student and teacher.
Students in the West Holmes Building and Trades program have been doing project-based learning, putting an idea or concept to the drawing board, then following the steps to complete their project. As a teacher, I really like the connection of taking a load of logs and turning it into a building, said West Holmes Building and Trades instructor Dave McMillen. You have to have a great understanding of how wood works, use of all your tools and a lot of older-style tools.
