Warri – The Itsekiris world over , in the early hours of Saturday, ended the 14 days of mourning which was part of the final rites of passage for His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli.
The event which took place at Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiris saw different Itsekiri commuties displaying the rich cultural heritage of the Iwere people in honour of their departed monarch.
There has been “unusual” influx of sons and daughters of Iwere nation both at home and in the diaspora to Ode-Itsekiri since the commencement of the rites.
Ogiame Ikenwoli, who has been variously described as a peace loving father whose reign brought remarkable development to the his people, joined his ancestors last December.
