Betty Jane Besok Walters MAYVILLE — Betty Jane Besok Walters, 93, of Mayville, formerly of Olean, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 25, 2021. She was born October 23, 1927, in Olean, N.Y., the daughter of the late John J. and Helen Reese Besok. Betty graduated from Olean High School in 1945. Twelve members of the OHS team served as delegates and competed against students from 12 Buffalo-area high schools. OLEAN — For close to 10 years, the Dream It Do It Western New York program has instructed area students participating in the DIDI 500 project, which essentially teaches them how to build model cars powered by rubber bands.
