They say a 42-year-old man was stabbed to death on Frost Avenue near Olean Street at around 6:30.

A 42-year-old city man is dead after being stabbed to death on the city's west side in the area of Olean Street and Frost Avenue.

Family and friends of James Hallenbeck are still coming to terms with his untimely death. Hallenbeck was shot and killed on Aug. 21 while walking near his home on Olean Street.

Twenty-nine-year-old James Hallenbeck lived in the neighborhood and was pronounced dead at the scene.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Police are searching for the shooters in two murders that happened overnight, within hours of each other. One was at a large party. Police found one man shot to death on Olean Street, and then about an hour later found multiple others shot on State Street.

Anyone with information about either homicide is asked to call 911.
