(Klas Stolpe / KINY) Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The 69th Annual Alaska American Legion Baseball League State Tournament beings Thursday at Anchorage’s Mulcahy Stadium with Juneau Post 25 looking to defeat Chugiak Post 33 in their first round robin action of the post season.
“We need to play quality baseball,” Juneau Post 25 co-coach Jeremy Ludeman noted in a message to KINY. “Make the routine plays routine and leave it all on the field. We’ve had many conversations as a team over the last couple months and hope to fulfill some of our team goals and dreams. We need to play how we want to be remembered when everything is said and done.”
Juneau Post 25 defeated Dimond Post 21 on Thursday at Adair Kennedy Field. “Defense is something we still need to improve on,” Juneau co-coach Jeremy Ludeman said. “We have to keep striving for that quality. Even in today’s game we had a few errors that could have changed and ended the game earlier and saved a bit of our pitching.”

“We came out ready to play,” Juneau-Douglas head coach Chad Bentz said. “We came out where we left off against Petersburg, then we died down a bit, but we managed to put some more pressure on them. We had a couple good bunts, some base running, and I was happy to see that.”
