Coach Sebastian Brodericks: Sad, I've to cry for help after serving Nigeria

By Ozioruva Aliu, Benin City Entering his sparsely furnished sitting room in his weather-beaten bungalow at No 10 Omozioge Drive street off Jemide, Off Giwa Amu Street in Benin City, Coach Sebastian Broderikcs Imausen heartily welcomes his guest into a chair in the sitting room; he looks cheerful but he was quickly joined by his wife, Helen apparently to guide him and bring him back to himself as he seems to be suffering from dementia. Coach Sebastian in between sobs and at a point totally crying said he has been surviving on his monthly pension but that has been stopped for about three months as he could not go for the last screening of pensioners by the Edo state government because of ill-health. However, his wife has submitted the necessary documents but he is still waiting for the government’s reaction.

Super 8: 756 players, officials undergo COVID-19 test in Anambra

By Chimezie Anaso Awka, Jan. 27, 2021 No fewer than 750 players and officials of 27 teams that will participate in the maiden ‘My Anambra Football’ Super 8 Football Championship will benefit from the free COVID-19 and other pre-tournament medical tests. The competition is a programme of the Anambra State Football Association (AnSFA) and fully sponsored by Aspire FC Adazi-Ani. Oliver Ndigwe, a member of AnSFA and chairman of the tournament committee of the competition, said each of the 23 players and five officials of each participating team will enjoy the free medical test. Ndigwe said the test is to ascertain the health status of the participants in line with best practices.
