BREAKING: Ex-Women Affairs Minister Mama Taraba Is Dead

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Ex-minister of women affairs, Aisha Al-Hassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba is dead, the African Examiner has learnt. Reports say she died Friday at a Cairo hospital in Egypt. She was 61 years old. Alhassan contested the Taraba 2015 governorship election under the Platform of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) but lost to incumbent Governor Darius Ishaku, who ran under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). President Muhammadu Buhari later appointed her Minister of Women Affairs after she lost the Taraba election. She had however resigned her appointment when she controversially endorsed ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar for president ahead of the 2019 elections.
