POCATELLO Ten years to the month after the grand opening of the Portneuf Medical Center main hospital, ground was broken at the development site of a new Portneuf medical plaza.
PMC CEO Jordan Hergert says the 20,000-square-foot building at Northgate will offer primary care, urgent care and occupational medicine.

Critical violations: Large container of raw chicken stored at room temperature while cooking small amounts at a time in the deep fryer. Chicken temperature 49 to 60 degrees. Out for less than 2 hours, will be cooked within a half hour, according to employees.
Violations: Frozen food stored in plastic shopping bags in reach-in freezer, not food-grade plastic meant for long term storage. Raw food stored not protected in walk-in cooler, food uncovered. Raw heads of cabbage stored directly on wire shelving in walk-in cooler with no barrier in between.
