solid ground. second, there s the question of what court, how? it is very unclear to me that omar bin laden could go to an american court, could go to an international court in the hague and actually have the legal right to even bring a case like this. so i think this is really a political gesture by bin laden s son. it s not a serious legal one. and, again, i m going to play devil s advocate here. there s a ban on assassinations by the united states. does that apply? is there anything you could find, if you had to in law school say, i disagree with this but i have to prove the other side, where would you be looking? in the 1970s, there were the church committee which in the senate, pointed out the united states tried to assassinate fidel castro several different times. government put in this ban on political assassinations. but this is not a political assassination.
