One Tree Hill alumâs medical drama,
Good Sam, for the 2021-22 broadcast season, according to Deadline. Sophia Bush will star as talented, but stifled, surgeon Sam Griffith, who embraces her leadership role after her boss falls into a coma. However, when he awakens and wants to resume surgery, it falls to her to supervise the person who never acknowledged her talents and who also just happens to be her father.

CBS has added one comedy and one drama to its fall TV lineup, with series orders for “Smallwood” and “Good Sam.”
“Smallwood,” based on the real-life story of professional bowler Tom Smallwood, stars Pete Holmes, Chi McBride and Katie Lowes. Mark Gross is executive producing and writing, with David Hollander and Brian D’Arcy James also exec producing and Mark Cendrowski directing. The comedy follows a seemingly ordinary man who, after being laid off from his assembly line job at the GM factory, decides to provide for his family by pursuing his dream of becoming a pro bowler.

Good Sam. Both pilots had been frontrunners for the past few weeks and were expected to get the green light to join CBS’ 2021-22 schedule.

The episode deals with the unrest Janine and June face within their new group, which furthers the bond between them. The episode is an emotional one, even when the a sense of relief from being out of Gilead is palpable.
