As Oommen Chandy’s mortal remains were being brought from Bengaluru to his house in Thiruvananthapuram on July 16 afternoon, thousands stood waiting along the roadside, seeking a final glimpse of the Congress veteran.
Despite the scurrilous nature of allegations, former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy who passed away recently, responded to the news report on him with consummate self-restraint.
Chandy’s family on Wednesday informed the state government about his last wish that his funeral should be held without any state honours. The government, in turn, accepted it.
