This is the 15th year for Operation Shower and the second year the Islanders have helped host the event.

San Antonio, Texas-based shopping and retail supermarket H-E-B took to social media its appreciation to Texan military troops by giving away 500 care packages to them in light of their bravest contribution to the welfare and peacekeeping of their nation.

A nonprofit supporting military families hosted a group baby shower for local military moms-to-be Wednesday afternoon. Operation Shower was able to give 40 mothers "Showers in a Box" — gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies.
