Simon Kaye has rejoined Oracle Australia, resuming his previous role as director of cloud transformation and innovation, after leaving the company three years ago.
According to an Oracle spokesperson, Kaye is rejoining under the director of strategic sales Terry Maloney, who assumed that role earlier this year, and will be focused on large strategic projects with enterprise and government customers.
Kaye’s role will be to work alongside partners to land and deliver these projects.
After leaving the company, Kaye stayed within the Oracle ecosystem – first as the director of cloud technology solutions for Accenture and then as the director of digital and cloud client solutions for NCS, both Oracle channel partners.
Benjamin Henshall has been appointed as the first ANZ vice president for Data virtualization provider Denodo.
Henshall previously spent 13 years in various leadership roles for Red Hat, most recently as South East Asia general manager.
Henshall will be responsible for developing and accelerating growth in the Australian and New Zealand markets by building on existing relationships with customers and expanding the company’s partner ecosystem.
He will oversee sales, marketing, partners relationships, service delivery and post-implementation support.
“I have been closely following Denodo’s worldwide growth, specifically in the ANZ region for the last few years,” Henshall said.
“I personally know the data related pain points of many organisations in the territory and I definitely believe Denodo has the right product to solve many of those problems. My near terms focus will be to build the awareness of Denodo’s product and solution, not only working with my colleagues
A former account director at Oracle Australia is suing the company over the termination of his employment.
Previously the key account director for Oracle’s relationship with ANZ bank, the employee was forced out of the vendor in September 2020 allegedly on the basis of poor performance.
In court documents obtained by CRN, the former employee disputed the poor performance claim and alleged that Oracle breached the Fair Work Act by failing to pay him redundancy pay and breaching the implied contractual duty of good faith.
The former employee has sought compensation of up to $807,000 as part of a general protections claim if Oracle is found to have breached the Fair Work Act of 2009. He has also sought alternative amounts in case the ruling found his role was made redundant or if Oracle breached its own employment contract.
