EUGENE, Ore. Staying hydrated during the summer months can ward off light-headedness and more serious symptoms, but when you re headed out the door, experts say that most people should grab water instead of an energy drink.
According to Oregon Medical Group pediatrician Dr. Laura Sanderson, people should grab a hat, sunscreen and water bottle when they head outside during the summer. It s really important to stay hydrated, and the number one best way to stay hydrated is to have water, she said.

Though Western Oregon s record-breaking temperatures are now behind us, above-average heat is still in the forecast, and if you re headed to the pool, beach or river to cool off, you ll need to put on some sunscreen.
