The FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) has been challenging drivers and their teams since its inception in 1984 with events across the region on varied terrain.As well as traditional desert-based rallies, the MERC includes rounds on gravel and asphalt with high ambient and ground temperatures a constant hurdle to overcome.
With the support of the Mapfre Foundation, FIA Member Club the Touring y Automóvil Club de Colombia organised Mobility Workshops at the national level to raise awareness among young people (from kindergarten to grade 11) about Safe, Healthy and Sustainable Mobility. 80,746 children and adolescents from 120 public and private educational institutions took part in the workshop from June to November 2022.
The second edition of the FIA Motorsport Games staged in Marseille in October this year set a new high mark for the most number of nations / FIA ASNs to ever participate in an official FIA-sanctioned event.
