SWRHA resuming full operations

File: San Fernando General Hospital. After elective surgeries and outpatient clinics at the San Fernando General Hospital (SFGH) were suspended for a period of time last year owing to limitations brought on by COVID-19, full resumption of services is expected shortly. The South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) said it took note of concerns from the public on its Theatre Services, Out Patients Clinics (OPC) and triage assessments at its Emergency Departments. In a statement, the SWRHA said it’s gradually returning to a normal theatre surgery schedule, currently augmented by an automated surgical waiting list management system. It believes this system will significantly improve its scheduling of theatre services, earmarked to return to full operations from February 1.
