Today the high at the La Crosse airport was 94F… marking the 20th day this year reaching 90F or hotter. We average about 17 days per year reaching 90F or hotter in La Crosse, so we’ve already beat that… and still have a lot of summer left!
Tonight will be mild and muggy with lows ranging from the upper 60s to mid 70s. A cool front to the northwest could spark some scattered showers and t-storms late tonight into Saturday morning in our area. The timing looks to be after about 2 a.m. and storms could linger through about 9 or 10 a.m. Saturday… before dying out or shifting to our southeast.

It was another hot and humid day across the region with many spots seeing highs in the 90-95F range. High humidity caused heat indices in the mid-upper 90s to as hot as 102F at the La Crosse airport.
Tonight there could be some isolated t-showers this evening in far south/east parts of the viewing area. Most areas will remain dry and it will be another mild and muggy night. Lows will range from the mid 60s (north/east) to low-mid 70s.

A frontal boundary sits just to our south and will be the focus for scattered showers and storms tonight. This chance of rain will try to creep northward overnight, but weaken as it does… so the best rain chances tonight will be south of I-90. Otherwise, expect a mostly cloudy and muggy night with lows in the 60s to around 70F.
