many missteps, and you are seeing it in the poll, and the inability to come at former president trump. we have been seeing it a little bit, and he did come at trump with the pac paying legal bills, and we will see if it is continues, but he has been hesitant to attack former president trump, because he is still trying to cultivate his voters. yes, he is seeming to outtrump trump, but it is not working for him on the campaign trail. i do want to talk to you about the numbers again, and 54% of the republicans saying that donald trump needs to be their nominee, and considering all of the legal battles that he has been facing, does it surprise you, or is this a sign that his voter, and those who are very strongly for him see all of this as just the piling on from the democrats? i think that is exactly right, sara. what you have seen throughout
trump rushing to defend him. i don t think there s any way in hell that trump will get a fair trial in washington, d.c. it s further evidence that we have a politicized department of justice. the american people want to move forward and they re trying to go backward. that last comment is from chip roy who backs ron desantis but also defending donald trump. we ve seen this happen time and again. house republicans try to use their power to muddy the waters on the investigation. first on the presidential candidates i do want to say that no one is going to outtrump trump so the fact that they are trying to defend or at least not completely attack trump over this issue is just, you know, we will see if it works. as far as on capitol hill is concerned, manu, we spend a lot of time up there, we could have predicted exactly what every single republican lawmaker was going to say before this latest news came out and they have made a decision of where they stand, they are not going to b

gap between desantis and the former criminally indicted president is slipping. desantis is trying to outtrump trump. but it s not working. so back to the question. what happened? and what does this mean for republicans who know trump is politically toxic and a multiple loser and are desperate for an alternative. joining me to discuss and not to mock is bernard. bernard, i always start with you because you are in the free state of florida. i have always been skeptical of desantis. he is just like mark rubio, he s just like bush. people in new york decide he s
