A recently released crime lab report on the fatal police shooting of a troubled Overland Park teenager in 2018 has prompted new questions about whether the officer may have been cleared of wrongdoing prematurely.
The report by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office’s crime lab was obtained by Sheila Albers, the mother of the shooting victim John Albers.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. â Newly obtained information raises new questions about the credibility of a key investigative report in the deadly shooting of a teen by an Overland Park police officer in 2018.
Former Overland Park Police Officer Clayton Jenison shot and killed 17-year-old John Albers as the boy was backing the family minivan out the garage.
The incident took place after police were called to the Albersâ home for a welfare check on the teen.
