Last weeks official release of the final build of the Linux-style Windows Package Manager by Microsoft was met with great excitement from the community. But the company seems to have only belatedly spotted an issue with its Store alternative.

Submissions to the Windows Package Manager repository will now be manually reviewed to reduce duplicate entries and manifests with issues.

Taking charge Windows enthusiasts were quick to capitalize on the tool’s ease of use to submit all kinds of packages to the repository, resulting in several duplicate ones, as well as many that weren’t properly manifested.
