UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - China delayed on Wednesday a proposal by the United States and India to sanction at the U.N. Security Council a top command.
While all other 14 members of the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday agreed to impose sanctions on Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist Abdul Rauf Azhar, only China stood in defence of the terrorist by placing a hold on the proposal.
The official restructuring of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir comes into effect on October 31. The region’s special status had been a thorn in the side of Hindu nationalists for a long time.
